Volac’s reputation has been built around product and process ingenuity, developing products to support the application of healthy nutrition. Volac’s experience and understanding of animal and human nutrition is a unique and powerful combination, creating products and ingredients that promote increased performance.
Established in 1970, Volac has been instrumental in the development of innovations that have pushed forward the barrier of healthy livestock production. Volac’s pioneering achievements include the introduction of the first instantised milk replacers, development of the big bale silage wrapping system, the ground breaking innovation of Megalac protected fat, Gardion, the natural alternative to antibiotics, and the introduction of labour-saving computerised feeding systems for calves. Most recently a unique process was developed, utilising the high value globular proteins, to manufacture nutritionally superior milk replacers.
Building on detailed nutritional experience and technical know-how Volac entered the human food ingredients market in 1998. Developing processes to ensure the gentle processing of whey to produce protein concentrates and isolates in a natural and undenatured form, Volac today leads the market in nutritional whey products.
An independent company based in the UK, Volac has a global presence through joint ventures, manufacturing agreements, and a strong distribution network.
