Topwrap X-treme 340: new Eco-Green wrap from Volac

Big bale wrapping system pioneer Volac has launched Volac Topwrap X-treme 340, the only 340mm wide Eco-Green pre-stretched film available in the UK and Ireland.

Specifically designed to meet the needs of small haylage bale wrapping, the film also offers opportunities for significant cost benefits to both contractors and farmers.

Each 2,400m roll carries sufficient plastic for up to 50 small haylage bales with six wraps depending on bale dimensions, that is approximately 40% more plastic than conventional 340mm wrap. Consequently, plastic use together with subsequent wastage is reduced by around 40% per roll. Add together the fewer roll changes required, the reduced time spent in roll and waste handling, lower logistic costs together with the extra output, and 10% cost savings over conventional 340mm film can be made.

For contractors, the pre-stretched film can be used on a range of wrappers. It has an optimum stretch of between 32% and 38%, combined with the advantage of a wrapping speed up to 10% faster than for conventional film.
