Volac is pleased to announce the appointment of Sonia Powar as a Non-Executive Director.
Sonia Powar brings more than 25 years of experience across Venture Capital, Growth and Private Equity. A qualified chartered accountant, she has built a distinguished career spanning investment, scale-up operations and board roles, with a strong track record of deploying over £2bn of capital with disciplined downside protection and a consistent focus on long-term value creation.
Her experience includes working across multiple sectors and economic cycles, with deep expertise in assessing investment opportunities, shaping strategic direction and supporting management teams to deliver sustainable growth. Sonia is recognised for her ability to combine rigorous financial insight with a practical understanding of how businesses scale and perform.
In addition to her investment credentials, Sonia offers a unique perspective at Board level, bridging the interests of shareholders, investors, boards and management teams. She is known for bringing structured thinking, constructive challenge and strong decision-making discipline to complex environments.
